Who are we?
The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is an international association that includes over 50 member countries and 70 supporting companies. We believe that a country’s natural resources belong to its citizens. Our mission is to promote understanding of natural resource management, strengthen public and corporate governance and accountability, and provide data to inform policymaking and multi-stakeholder dialogue in the extractive sector.
Our unique multi-stakeholder model brings together government, civil society and business representatives on a single EITI platform with equal footing to improve natural resource governance. Member countries implement the 2023 EITI Standard, recently updated with new provisions on energy transition, anti-corruption and gender equality.

What are we looking for?
The EITI International Secretariat is recruiting an Oslo-based intern to support the Outreach and Candidature Committee and the EITI Data Team for a 6-month contract commencing 24 June 2024. We are searching for a person with strong analytical, research and writing skills familiar with data analysis and the use of data for impact. A successful candidate should be able to work independently, have strong writing skills and ability to track progress on several work streams. This position will initially be anchored in the Outreach and Candidature Committee Support team, reporting to the EITI Europe Director and work closely with Data, Policy and Communications teams at the EITI International Secretariat. For the second half of the internship, the position will be anchored in the EITI Data Team, reporting to the Data Manager, with interactions with the Communications team and other colleagues at the Secretariat.

The Outreach and Candidature Committee and Data Team intern position offers the chance to work in an international and collaborative working environment to help citizens of resource-rich countries benefit from their natural resources.
Our office is located in central Oslo with various commuting options available. Employees based in Oslo can apply a hybrid work setup, offering greater flexibility. Our official working language is English, but we also communicate in several other languages.
This position implies fixed hourly rate.
