Kongsberg Discovery AS, Customer Services, Uncrewed platforms is responsible for technical advisory, support, and training for our Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) systems. Our goal is to provide support and services to fulfill our customer needs the best possible way.

Our AUV, Hugin, can dive down to 6000 m depth and scan the seabed using multibeam echosounder (EM) and High resolution Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Sonar (HiSAS). It also consists of different environmental sensor.

We are now strengthening our services and are building up a new team for System as a Service (SaaS) with System operators at Kongsberg Discovery in Horten. As a system operator you will support the customer with the mobilization and demobilization of the AUV system onto their vessel, supervise them with the operation, and be responsible for making sure that the AUV system is in best shape between missions. You will also be a part of the service engineer team where you will do service, repair and maintenance on customers already installed AUV systems. As well as offer in-house technical support and remote service to external and internal customers.

Our System operators and Service Engineers are at the front line when representing KONGSBERG to our worldwide customers. Key accountabilities

  • Operating, testing, repair, maintenance, and service jobs worldwide.
  • Supervision and operator assistance onboard.
  • Technical support and on-call/remote service.
  • Approximately 100-120 travel days a year.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor/masters in engineering or other relevant skills/experience.
  • Good IT/PC/network skills.
  • Good communication skills in English and Norwegian. Both oral and written.
  • Experienced and non-experienced engineers are encouraged to apply.
