About the team 
At the technology center, the Flow Assurance team is developing our best-in-class flow simulators and enhancing them towards new energy solutions like CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS) and hydrogen transport. SLB software portfolio spans all technologies from cloud and web-based applications to computationally intensive scientific modelling. Our people create professional software for an exciting energy industry in a dynamic work environment.  

The position is on site, following SLB’s new BlueFlex program allowing partly use of the home office.  

 

About the position  
Being a Scientific Computing Engineer you will be responsible for numerical and analytical modeling and implementing the models in industry software code. You will join a team who take pride in understanding the client's needs and delivering high-quality solutions that exceed their expectations. In our DELFI cloud solution, activities cover automation and machine learning, where our goal is to move the expertise from the end-user to the software 

 

Essential responsibilities and duties 

  • Develop numerical and mathematical models based on available data. 
  • Implement new models in OLGA, PIPESIM and/or the DELFI cloud environment. 
  • Perform general software development and testing activities. 
  • Data analysis and validation of scientific software. 
  • Write model and software documentation. 
  • Write technical papers and reports. 
  • Interact with internal and external clients, gives presentations. 

 

Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or company. 

 

Qualifications  

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent.   
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience. 
  • Excellent technical communication skills, both oral and written. 

 

Technical experience  

  • Hands on experience with C++ and/ or Python, and industry development environments for creating efficient and high standard code. 
  • Advanced or expert level in numerical mathematics. 
  • Physical/flow modeling is considered important, but not a must have.   
  • Knowledge in high performance computing or cloud computing experience is considered valuable.
