We are currently seeking: 

Business Application Manager - BW LPG

In order to support our vision to be best on water, we are looking for an innovative and analytical person to own and manage critical business applications, optimize associated processes, support our business and ensure compliance. Your primary responsibility will be to manage, identify and recommend improvements to systems or processes with business value and compliance as primary drivers. You will contribute to the development of an application strategy and manage the systems from implementation to sunset. You will work closely with our IT vendors, train employees in best practices, and introduce new tools when necessary. 

This is a new position and you will have the possibility to shape the ways of working to achieve our objectives. You will be part of the IT and Digitalization team at BW LPG. As part of an agile, cross-functional team, we collaborate closely with the business to achieve our common, long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Your objective will be to ensure that our portfolio of ERP, purchasing, inventory, finance, trading, reporting, ship management and planned maintenance solutions support the business needs and external compliance requirements. Responsibilities will include:

  • Define, review and approve functional changes, hands on configuration management and change control.
  • Implement relevant processes to ensure system compliance with external and internal regulations.
  • Ensure correct system usage and monitor adherence to business processes.
  • Optimize the system and align with industry best practices and standards.
  • Ensure quality control of new releases and their roll-out.
  • Manage development projects and system life-cycle management.
  • Create user guides and execute employee training.
  • Engage with vendors on product road map and advocate for enhancements.
  • Create and update architectural overviews of the system and process portfolio.

Other tasks will be determined based on interest, skills and experience, and may include the following:

  • Analyze, lead or participate in application development, implementation or software selection processes.
  • Facilitate process improvement projects within our business.
  • Explore opportunities for process automation and use of traditional and emerging technologies, including, of course, AI. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of technology or business.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience from application management or ERP implementations within finance, shipping and/or from consulting industry.
  • Experience with ensuring IT compliance according to the Sarbanes-Oxley act framework will be a great advantage.
  • Understanding of IT and Business process architecture frameworks.
  • Applicants must qualify for permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway.
