The IT department at VARD is a global organization with 30 employees in Norway.

To facilitate and exploit new opportunities, VARD seeks a motivated person with experience in business and demand analysis. The right candidate will have experience both from working on the business side and in IT and has a strong focus on further developing and improving systems and services together with users and IT globally in VARD. 


About the position

You will be part of the IT Governance team at VARD IT, where you will play a crucial role in understanding business needs, obtaining and documenting requirements to be adapted and implemented as new solutions or improvement of existing ones. You will collaborate with colleagues in the IT department, with our suppliers and with business stakeholders to further develop IT's services and applications. This is how you influence that VARD's IT services and systems are efficient, secure, user-friendly and meet business needs. In this way, you will contribute to IT strategic planning for the Group, as well as plan and support concrete solutions in close cooperation with business areas and suppliers. The position reports to SVP DI &IT in VARD Group's IT department.

  • Translation of business requirements into IT delivery descriptions (Demand Management)
  • Contribute to the architectural design, development and implementation of new systems and applications
  • Help plan VARD IT project portfolio
  • Provide support by understanding and analyzing user problems and needs, as well as suggesting improvement measures
  • Participate in the preparation of documentation related to needs analysis and the pre-project phase
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and requirements
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Extrapolate and document clear and comprehensive business requirements
  • Analyze and interpret information to provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines and budgets
  • Orchestrate Request for Quotation (RFQ) process to match best-fit solution and suppliers to business needs
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams

Competencies you posses

  • Relevant higher education or documented relevant experience
  • Experience as a Business Analyst or a similar role
  • Experience in gathering business requirements and specifications for the design and delivery of IT systems or services
  • Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM
  • Knowledge of change management and project management
  • Knowledge of business analysis tools and methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills in both a Scandinavian language and English

Not essential, but desirable

  • Experience with supplier and solution analysis
  • Experience from following up IT suppliers (Supplier Management).
  • Experience with PRINCE2 or other project management concepts
