Sr. Test Automation Engineer

Handelsbanken Digital is a new unit established as a modern, digital organization, having ambitions to build digital-first mobile and web banking applications for the retail banking market. To succeed with this, we need experienced engineers focused on quality and test automation, to help ship the product and shape the culture of the new digital unit. Are you the one we are looking for?

We have ambitious goals, fast pace, lots of energy and knowledge of what this means in terms of investments and willingness to change. This is a newly created position and a mostly greenfield, modern technology environment. You will have a key role in the engineering team, with a particular responsibility to ensure our applications are shipped with the highest quality and security standards.

As a Sr. Test Automation Engineer, you will be involved across the full software development lifecycle. You will:

• Be responsible for Automation and technical tasks related to API

• Collaborate with Product Owners to verify specifications and acceptance criteria, and to document test cases

• Work with Backend and Frontend engineers across several agile development teams to ensure their Unit and Integration tests cover the specs, and to enhance mocking capabilities over time

• Write and maintain end-to-end tests to make sure the work of the various teams integrates well

• Coordinate load tests, penetration tests and manual exploratory testing

• Design and implement technical foundations for mock/test data management (e.g., seeding of test environment data, consistent rewinding to similar state)

You will report to the Head of Tech Foundations and work in a team of other Sr. Test Autoamtion and Sr. DevOps engineers.

We would love to hear from you if you have (some of) the following qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer or Software Engineer with a focus on quality and test automation

• Expert knowledge of test automation strategies and E2E test frameworks

• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines

• Knowledge of mobile app test and review processes

• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and API contracts

• Experience in Banking, Payments, or similar regulated financial service environments

• Ability to collaborate with agile product owners and engineering leads to define and refine requirements

• Good communication and presentation skills in English and preferably Norwegian
