Job Description

PALFINGER Marine Norway needs to strengthen up the software engineering team for development of state-of-the-art and reliable software products for the future. We are seeking for one highly motivated and skilled software engineer to join our great SW team. We use vision-based technology, IoT and analytics to develop some of our next generation products and services. PALFINGER is therefore looking for engineers with the motivation, skills and drive to run R&D projects in cooperation with our partners and customers. In this role you will have the opportunity to follow your work from coding to testing and realization of products. In PALFINGER we care about R&D, engineering, production, and service of our products in the aftermarket. You will be part of a highly skilled team of colleagues with different nationalities and with strong technical and/or academic skills. You will have the opportunity to cooperate and share knowledge with colleagues across nations. You will have the opportunity to work together with our dedicated Center of Excellence team in Salzburg which are continuously supporting R&D to strengthen the PALFINGER group.  


Qualifications

  • Software Engineer with MSc or BCs degree and some years of documented experience
  • Software development skills using relevant languages, i.e. Python, Rust, C++, TypeScript, SQL, etc.
  • Experience with planning and testing of SW or control systems following industry recognized methodologies
  • Preferably understanding in vision-based technology and applications
  • Preferably insight into safety system principles and cybersecurity
  • Experience in condition monitoring (e.g., continuous status and information flow to machine operator and possible control centers) will be an advantage
  • Preferably experience in predictive maintenance (e.g., real-time overview of machine status and remaining cycles to predict maintenance of main components, detection of irregular patterns and alarm/warning configuration, etc.)
  • Preferably experience in remote testing and calibration
  • Maritime / Offshore experience is an advantage
  • Good English skills written and spoken
  • Excellent cooperation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
