Lead our dynamic tech team to new heights as our Tech Lead!

As a Tech Lead in the Consumer Business (CB) Core, you will be a part of a team that impacts all our digital products and publications. The team is working on critical and exciting projects focusing on several aspects of the customer lifecycle for both our corporate customers, and end-users. This includes everything from user retention and engagement, to personalizing the customer journey and making it simple and frictionless to use our services.


Your strategic role:

  • You will be leading a distributed cross-functional team including developers and designers, as well as working closely with experts in other areas such as digital marketing, and subscription. 
  • Apart from day-to-day development you will also work closely with the product and design teams to ensure we deliver high quality products and services, ensure efficient development and management of our services, and act as an important link between business and the technical team. 
  • You will be reporting to the Head of Engineering and contribute with developing and implementing technical strategies.

 

    Your day-to-day:

    • You will lead the technical development and guide how the CB Core team operates, while having a hands-on approach to developing and improving functionality.
    • Foster close collaboration with other cross-functional teams to develop and optimize our subscription stack, ensuring the delivery of compelling journalistic content to our global audience.
    • Embrace modern development patterns and agile processes to foster efficient collaboration between the product and development teams.
    • Contribute to the ongoing modernization of our technology stack by transitiong to a microservice architecture hosted on AWS. The backbone of our stack is constructed using a Java backend, complemented by Django for client applications.
    • Drive the migration from a private and local environement, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) written in Terraform
    • Utilize Javascript on the frontend, using frameworks such as Node, Nuxt, and Vue to increase our use experience.


      Your background:

      • Established leadership experience, of either local or remote teams.
      • Extensive hands-on experience with Java, or similar as main programming languages
      • Can demonstrate a strong understanding of Vue/Node, or other frontend technologies
      • Can bring solid expertise in cloud platforms / cloud operation, migration to the cloud, or familiarity with gitHub Actions and DevOps methodologies
      • A strong DevOps mindset with experience setting up pipelines, scripting, and utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as a code
      • Fluent in both English and Norwegian
