Your everyday life as Platform Engineer

As a Platform Engineer, you will be part of the Skyplattform & Infrastructure team, which currently consists of 11 professionals with expertise in automation, application development, infrastructure and security. The team's task is primarily to facilitate other development teams so that they can robustly, efficiently and securely deliver value continuously to their end users. At Gjensidige, we have everything from analysis teams consisting of Data Scientists who utilize Big Data and machine learning to autonomous product teams who constantly develop new microservices. The needs you will help to support are many and varied.

Your tasks will consist of working with components on Gjensidige's platforms. We imagine that you are interested in cloud operations, backup, security in platforms and want to learn more.

The position also involves building on our cloud infrastructure and taking ownership of some of our most fundamental backup technology components.

You are passionate about interacting with our developers to build robust cloud solutions that scale and have stable availability, facilitating a high degree of automation and frequent production setups.
The role has focus on systems backup platforms, data protection and recovery, and will deliver technical infrastructure services for design, engineering, maintenance and support of Gjensidige's data backup and recovery environment. The candidate must be able to contribute independently and on teams in projects of moderate to complex scope in order to recommend and develop creative and practical solutions. Broad experience in system administration and strong technical knowledge in this specific technology area is required.

This role is also responsible for handling day to day administration tasks including systems reporting, system tuning etc.

About you as an applicant

It is also important that you have good communication skills in both Norwegian and English. Otherwise, we look for the following qualifications:

• Design, implement and operate data protection systems for Azure and onprem resources.
• Maintain the operational stability and performance of the enterprises backup infrastructure.
• Secure data protection infrastructure to meet or exceed security compliance baselines.
• You have experience with build/deploy (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud provisioning tools/ IaC (Terraform).
• General automation, Azure CLI and Powershell scripting.
• Knowledge of GitOps
• Experience automating system administration and configuration management with Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
• Experience in troubleshooting and technical support in configuration of cloud environments.
• We are looking for you who have 1 to 4 years of experience in mentioned technologies.
