Software Engineer - Cloud

We are now looking for a Software Engineer - Cloud to join Volue Insight team. At Volue Insight, we empower our customers to make informed decisions based on data. This includes developing pricing models for their energy products, determining optimal times to buy energy, and making strategic investments in renewable power plants or power-consuming industries.

The Development department in Volue Insight builds and operates a self-serve data platform for efficient storage, modelling, and distribution of substantial amounts of time series data. 

Volue Insight works with an agile mindset, and we are continuously working to improve our way of work. We run all our infrastructure on Google Cloud using Kubernetes, we are phasing in Terraform and  currently doing a project where we roll-out a new workflow management system. Most of our software is written in Python. As a Software Engineer in Volue Insight you will have a central role in developing our SaaS offerings.

What you will be doing to make a difference:

• Conceptualize infrastructure that allows our services to scale.
• Define and maintain our infrastructure as code, making reusable components.
• Ensure we run on updated infrastructure with industry-standard security.
• Provide an observability platform which makes it easy to identify and track issues.
• Collaborate with our internal software engineers and data scientists, teaching them how to use our observability tools, optimize infrastructure usage, and grasp business requirements.

What you need to succeed:

• Relevant education on a BSc-level or above.
• Experience with Terraform or similar, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with software development and a DevOps mindset in a cloud environment, very similar to that of a software reliability engineer.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary fashion while supporting your team.
• Ability to manage own workload and to both plan and execute on a strategy.
• If you read the “State of DevOps” reports and can explain why the Accelerate-metrics are important, that would be amazing!

The position reports to the Head of Development – Insight and cooperates closely with our product teams. We are looking to hire for Volue office in Oslo, Arendal or Berlin but will be ready to consider other locations for the right candidate.
