We are looking for a I&I Sub-System Lead Engineer

Job Description
Installation & Intervention consist of a wide range of service tooling, divided between our six engineering value streams. These are:
  • In-Riser - All tooling related to in-marine riser operations, typically SLS and LS/SSTT systems.
  • Open Water - All tooling related to open water completion riser scope, typically EDP/LRP systems.
  • RLWI - All tooling related to our Riserless Light Well Intervention stacks, including XT adapters.
  • Connection Tooling - All tooling related to subsea connection & tie-in systems.
  • XT&TH - All tooling related to XT installation/retrieval and tools interfacing the TH directly.
  • IWOCS - Control systems covering all installation & intervention scenarios linked to our tooling portfolio.

Projects having complex scope covering several of these value streams require a I&I Sub-System Lead Engineer to lead these value streams and have overall responsible that the scope is delivered according to customer requirements, on time within the agreed engineering budget.  The I&I Sub-System Lead is also responsible to manage scope changes during the project, ensuring scope review is done and get approval from the individual value streams before potential additional scope is agreed with customer. The I&I Sub-System Lead Engineer will be seconded to the project team and will be have dual reporting to the overall Project Engineering Manager as well as the Product Delivery Manager allocated from I&I.

Typical main tasks are:
  • Review project contract/requirements when a new project has been awarded
  • Compare project scope with what was tendered and ensure we are still acting according to strategy agreed in the tender. If not, manage escalation process accordingly to get approval of scope.
  • Based on project requirements and scope, define sub-system scope for the relevant value streams, including engineering budget and schedule required for the individual tooling deliveries
  • Attend project and customer meetings as requested from project. Bring value stream engineers into these meetings as required, if discussions require technical experts etc.
  • Follow up progress from value streams, and manage escalation if there are issues with technical scope, budget or schedule.
  • Manage overall Project BOM, with input from the relevant value streams
  • Manage overall risks, with input from the relevant value streams
  • Manage overall interfaces, with input from the relevant value streams
  • Report overall progress in our management systems and identify issues which requires escalation

Qualifications:
  • Have relevant engineering education or work experience
  • Familiar with scope and services related to our tooling portfolio
  • Comfortable with taking lead and giving guidance to a project team in a hectic project environment, even in situations where things can be unclear.
  • You have communication and interpersonal skills required to lead a team of engineers in a good manner
  • Strong technical competency also have the ability to have a commercial and strategic mindset
  • You have strong English skills.
  • You are structured and have a self discipline required to manage schedule and cost focus through a project
  • You show interest for and focus on good work practices and continuous improvement

Important with valid work permit for Norway if not located in Norway.
