We are looking for a dedicated Senior UX/UI Designer to improve the user experience of our internally built software. You will be part of a supportive team of IT professionals who work with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Python and AWS cloud services. In this role, you will have significant responsibility designing intuitive and visually appealing interfaces. You will work closely with portfolio managers, traders and other expert business users, and collaborate with front-end architects and developers to translate requirements through design into effective and friendly features.

This role is in Oslo with the opportunity to work from our offices in New York, London, and Singapore at times.

What you will do

As part of a team of front- and back-end developers, you will contribute to the specification, design, development, and maintenance of our investment management applications. You will work towards a friendly and collaborative end-user community responsible for the management and risk of the fund's portfolios. You will champion efficiency in user navigation and visual layout and maintain a creative dialogue with end-users. You will work to enhance the UX skillset of the development team, identify areas of improvement, and drive change. You will take an active part in the quality control process by interviewing users, developing data visualisation methodologies, designing interaction flows, and conducting usability tests. There will be ample opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and make a difference from the start.

What you need

  • Strong UX/UI design skills, preferably 5+ years of experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma.
  • Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data analytics/visualization theory and techniques.
  • Knowledge of agile software development methodologies.

Desired experience (but with the right mindset, we are happy to train you):

  • Design system development.
  • Experience with prototyping tools.
  • Experience with modern web technologies.
  • Benefit from adept numerical reasoning skills.

Who you are

You have a passion for visual communication and data visualization. As a senior UX/UI designer, you take ownership of the product design process and enjoy working independently. At the same time, team collaboration is a must. We share knowledge and keep each other updated on the latest technologies and methodologies. Please note that you need to be proficient in written and spoken English.
