Battery Management System Engineer

In this position, we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about both hardware and software and is eager to expand their knowledge in Battery Management Systems. Familiarity with Battery Management Systems is not a prerequisite, but we’ll be delighted if you have such experience; we will provide training in this area. Your responsibilities will include actively participating in cutting-edge releases and projects related to Battery Management Systems. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in the field, and actively be able to build a network as we have several EU funded projects on the topic of battery management. Here, we are collaborating with the leading European experts in the field.

Your responsibilities will be to

Design, building and operation of Hardware-In-Loop systems:

  • Interface with Battery Management Systems
  • Interface and integration of Matlab/Simulink models
  • Identification of optimal hardware solutions
  • Testing and validation of battery system models and battery management systems
  • Assist with the configuration of Battery Management Systems
  • Development of suitable tests protocols
  • Standardization of tests
  • Work closely with Battery Management Systems development and modeling teams within Corvus Energy
  • Simulate battery behavior from field installations to diagnose any abnormal or non-ideal conditions and prepare foroptimizing the performance of the battery system
  • Liaison with and provide technical assistance relating to BMS in other departments within Corvus and external partners
  • Document test procedures, methodologies, and results comprehensively.
  • Ensure that documentation complies with industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Contribute actively to ongoing research projects and collaborate with leading EU partners.

Work Experience and Qualifications or Skills we need:

  • Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering, cybernetics, mechatronics or similar (Bachelors, Master's or PhD). Other formal education can be accepted for candidates with relevant work experience within the position's core tasks
  • Ability to work hands-on with cell emulators, BMS communication, interfaces and battery test equipment.
  • Interest in modeling and programming, preferably experience in Python, C or Matlab
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize
