Frontend Developer

Team Job Performance is looking for a frontend developer to join the team! We are a key part of the Job strategy in Schibsted Nordic Marketplaces, where we are working on transforming our business model to a model based on performance of the job ad, ensuring that we charge our customers based on the value we deliver. The role

Your role in the team is really important as we're working on a completely new business model for our customers and taking more ownership over how we sell our products on the job sites Blocket, Oikotie and FINN. This will be ongoing for a while, and there will be lots of chances for you to try new things and learn as we go along.

The team

The Job Performance team has six full-stack developers and one data scientist. We have some great supporting roles to help the team succeed. Our Product Manager will always work to make sure we prioritize the right stuff and make sure what we do creates the right user and customer value. Our Engineering Manager makes sure we have a great time doing what we do, and our UX’er makes sure we always have the user and customer in focus.

We own, develop and maintain the components that are related to the business side of FINN job (and future Nordic Marketplace stack):

• Managing pay-for-performance offerings
• Dynamically setting pay-for-performance prices
• Keeping track of how well pay-for-performance is working
• Managing the product sales part of classified ads (and we'll manage the prices for them in the future too)
• Managing upsale page

Our tech

When it comes to the technology we use, we mainly work with Podium for composing our micro frontends, predominantly utilizing TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Tailwind CSS. We also make use of Jest and React testing library for testing and Docker for containerization. We are transitioning over to Github Actions for our CI/CD pipeline, moving away from Travis CI. We also sometimes stumble across Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin and Ktor.

The journey

We have started the journey towards changing the business model for our customers in the Job vertical and have gained great progress by releasing one pay-4-performance product to some of our customers in FINN. We are still in the early stages of a larger journey so many of the exciting questions and opportunities to grow are still ahead of us. We like to solve these together as a team with quite an emphasis of freedom to try new things and experiment while also spending time with the aurora platform teams ensuring we are doing the right things the right way.
