The IT Department at the University of Oslo (USIT) provides infrastructure and IT services/solutions to the University of Oslo, the university and college sector in Norway and more. The position is a two-year project position and is part of the Section for Scientific Computing Services (BT), Division for Research, Dissemination and Education. The section has 24 employees and you will become part of a cross-disciplinary agile team with high competence in everything from design to development and operation.

The Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Cloud (NAIC) is a five-year project with three years of funding support from the Research Council of Norway. The project started April 2023 and aims to establish a powerful AI/ML infrastructure in Norway, which will promote AI education, research, and innovation. NAIC provides access to High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources and support to researchers, PhD students, instructors, entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs interested in exploring AI methodologies, as well as developing advanced AI models and algorithms.

The position is temporary until end of the NAIC project in April 2026 and is paid as a head engineer (SKO 1087) in a salary range between NOK 615,700 - 692,400, depending on experience and competence.
