In our effort to create better structures for management reporting, financial management, improved oversight of our projects, and in general: Streamline efforts in the use of information technology; we have created the Business Analyst position which will be the catalyst for this transformation.
In this position, you will work closely with financial management systems and in due time with all other relevant systems. Through projects ranging from automating donor reporting processes by building user friendly reporting tools, to enabling management in making decisions based on financial data.
You will be based in the Finance Department, in the Control & Compliance division, in Oslo. You will team up with 12 motivated co-workers who are working to ensure maximum utilization of available financial resources to some of the most vulnerable groups in over 20 countries. We are looking for a colleague that has the ability to use applied knowledge from best practises and adapt it to our opportunities for improvement within our context to bring about change.
Responsibilities:
Develop reports for financial expenditure, financial statements, budgets and BvAs
Contribute to further development of the management report system, including KPIs, financial performance, automation of financial donor reporting, and other
Review and advise on needed tweaks, and improvements
Contribute to data-driven decision-making for the organization at all levels
Work with end users to ensure ease of use, and full understanding of the finance reports and dashboard created
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the rolling out of new finance reports through direct training for end users of those reports
Documentation of processes and learning when needed
Execution of Change Management initiatives
Qualifications:
Relevant education and minimum two years relevant work experience
Advanced Excel and data analytics
Familiar working with SQL DB
Experience with Business Intelligence tools (like Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjectives BI), MS Project or similar tools
Ability to manage projects and see them through to completion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable but not mandatory:
Experience with finance or accounting systems (We use Maconomy) and PIMS is an advantage
Adequate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and project management standard techniques.
Experience with the humanitarian or development sector
Working knowledge of Norwegian
