Software engineer

Roadguard is building the next generation of road safety sensors and are looking for a software engineer who can bridge the gap between our sensor system, the machine vision algorithms, and the long-term storage of our data streams. We are soon ready to scale-up to large data amounts from our pilot. You will have the chance to take ownership of the full process and implement the best solution for our business needs.

Roadguard is making our roads safer by developing smart technology.

Roadguard is a road safety technology start-up based in Oslo (Lysaker). The company is developing a system for automated tire quality detection and notification.

The product has been tested with Statens Vegvesen and the current product version recently got installed on the Svinesund border for assisting the vehicle control of arriving heavy transports.

The team is small and highly competent. We are now preparing to enter a new product phase and are looking for self-driven colleagues to the team.

Your main tasks

•                              Design, implement and take ownership of our data pipeline

•                              Spearhead the transition to a scalable solution in production which can handle large amounts of data

•                              Integrate the installed sensor system with on-premises and cloud solutions

•                              Increase the test-coverage of our code base

•                              Maintain and enforce our CI/CD workflows and clean code policies

•                              Improve the performance and robustness of the current solution

•                              Collaborate with both hardware, software and machine learning engineers 

Your qualifications

•                              Higher education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

•                              Proven record of software development in a test-driven environment

•                              Experience with development environments/tools like GNU/Linux, shell, containers (docker/Kubernetes), git (including GitHub and GitHub Actions)

•                              Experience with cloud technology and architecture, preferable Azure

•                              Experience with event-based architecture and messaging services

•                              Experience with networking

•                              Experience with computer vision and machine learning is a plus

•                              Experience with image acquisition systems, embedded programming and (near) real-time applications is a plus

•                              Experience with databases is a plus

•                              Fluent in English
