Are you our new ERP Technical Analyst?

You will join a team of IT Application Analysts that administrate more than 200 applications, supports all of Norway Business Unit and work in interaction with global and corporate IT.

ConocoPhillips' IT department has over 50 motivated and technically competent employees looking forward to getting a new colleague. Our existing skill set ranges from providing customer facing support, delivering IT solutions to the business and operating IT infrastructure including an inhouse data center. Norway IT is an active partner within ConocoPhillips global IT organization with main locations in Norway, USA, Canada and Australia.

The ERP Technical Analyst is responsible for providing technical support for the various SAP modules. This includes providing technical advice to the ERP Functional Analysts regarding the current SAP installation and how to exploit new SAP technology, participating in implementation projects, programming, data loading, assisting and guiding users as well as resolving day-to-day issues.

Accountability & End Result

  • Develop and enhance SAP applications using the technical tools available on the SAP platforms adopted by ConocoPhillips
  • Resolve day-to-day SAP technical issues on the same platforms according to service level agreements
  • Participate in SAP implementation projects across various SAP modules
  • Perform data loading to support critical business activities
  • Have a good understanding of the main functional processes in the SAP modules the analyst suppor
  • Work closely with the SAP Functional Analysts both in day-to-day support and during Functional Integration Testing (FIT)
  • Work closely with the Integration team locally and in the US to create the most efficient interfaces
  • Cooperate with the global SAP support community in ConocoPhillips as part of the follow-the-sun support model
  • Participate in global SAP technical networks to share best practices and support implementation of enterprise standards and technologies
  • Build network with key customers within area of support in order to perform support role more efficiently

Assigned roles and responsibilities:

  • Take an enterprise approach; suggest solutions with ConocoPhillips enterprise standards, guidelines and strategies in mind
  • Utilize and promote current IT work processes/tools for Demand Management and handling of Service Desk Incidents
  • Be committed to agreed deliveries and deadlines; flag as early as possible if deadlines can’t be met
  • Be responsible for keeping the Service Desk Incident backlog to a minimum for SAP modules the analyst supports
  • Follow programming standards and best practices
  • Be responsible for adequate unit testing before handing over to functional testing
  •  Perform code reviews
  • Be responsible for own functional and general career development and for keeping Individual Development Plan updated in dialog with supervisor
  • Actively seek information about new technologies relevant to area of responsibility, in particular new technical capabilities being made available by SAP
  • Actively share knowledge with IT colleagues and users

Required skills (education, experience & competencies)

  • MSc/BSc in Information Technology or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within IT, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • In-depth programming experience – preferably on SAP Netweaver platform
  • Among tools used are: ABAP workbench, iDocs, web services, Printforms, Smartforms, LSMW
  • In-depth experience with object-oriented programming, web services development and integration tools
  • Among tools used are: ABAP Web Dynpro, Adobe Livecycle Designer, SOA manager, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, Google ApiGee, SAP Cloud Integration
  • Broad knowledge of Information Technology solutions in general – both internal and external
  • Strong communication skills – able to communicate at all levels (oral/written) in Norwegian and English
