IT System Administrator

space future? Andøya Space has over 60 years of history in space and is in the process of
creating a European launch service for small satellites. We are looking for an IT Systems
Administrator that shall develop and main the IT systems at Andøya Space. The IT department
is a part of the operation support division.

The IT department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, development and security ofall IT systems and infrastructure at Andøya Space. The department also supports in
operational activities in Missile, Ballistic Rockets and Orbital launches.


Working tasks/responsibilities

The IT Systems Administrator will be a team member in a growing IT department and will have the responsibility for developing, securing, and maintaining IT systems at Andøya Space.

Andøya Space will be looking for a range of qualifications from applicants in the field of IT and
information systems.

The main tasks are:

  • Operation, maintenance, and development of IT-systems.
    • Server management.
    • Virtualization- and microservices.
    • Backup and data storage solutions.
    • Cloud Applications/Infrastructure management.
    • Administration and implementation of IT Security policies.
    • Network and Wi-Fi Management.
    • Documentation and quality management.
    • User support.

The position might also work towards and in operations and campaigns. This may include
some travelling, work outside normal working hours and across remote land areas.

Qualifications - education

  • We are seeking a skilled applicant with an engineering education (B.Sc or M.Sc) or
    equivalent in the field of IT and information systems/network engineering and/or with
    extensive experience and knowledge in IT-, technical- or space industry.
  • Experience with management and maintenance of different IT Systems such as
    virtualization- microservices, databases, backup and data storage, cloud solutions and
    network.
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks such as ITIL, NIST, ISO and CIS Controls.
  • Applicant must be able to gain a National Norwegian Security Clearance.
  • Proficient in English oral and writing.
  • Applicants must have a Class B driver’s license.
