Senior Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Oslo based engineering team and further develop our web and mobile applications to deliver a great product for our customers and users.

The Senior Frontend Engineer will play a crucial and leading role in the development of the mobile application and web interface accompanying the AV1 telepresence avatar. This will include the development of new features while also improving the existing architecture and code base. This role will be dedicated to No Isolations user and customer experience by ensuring that we deliver a high quality product through our front end interfaces.

About the role

Main responsibilities:

• Implement features in the AV1 mobile app and the AV1 Admin web interface while taking a particular interest in the user experience, performance and stability of our two front ends
• Improve the code architecture of both our front ends to ensure that we can efficiently deliver new functionality with a high degree of robustness and quality
• Work with UX designers to make sure we build the best possible experience for our users and customers
• Partake in system design discussions with the rest of the team and provide your unique insights and competency to further improve our overall system design and architecture
• Diagnose and resolve bugs and other types of issues
• Take the lead on projects when requested, assuming ownership and responsibility from planning to a successful implementation
• Guide and educate other members of the engineering team on the subject of front end development

Who are you? 

The ideal candidate has: 

• University degree in computer science or similar relevant working experience
• A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience building and shipping front end applications
• A proven track record of building and maintaining real-world applications using React and/or React Native
• Interest in and working knowledge of iOS/Android platform and ecosystem
• Experience working with automated testing of front end applications
• A passion for UX, strong engineering fundamentals and a quality mindset
• Motivation, drive and proactively takes ownership and responsibility
• Working proficiency in English (company language is English)
