Bluware is seeking a talented and highly motivated scientific programmer to join our fantastic development team in Oslo, Norway! 

About the position

As part of our Custom Solutions team, you will be responsible for developing software solutions for technical and scientific applications. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in software development, who is self-driven, cooperative, and enjoys working in an agile and creative environment.


Some of your duties and responsibilities:

  • Forming part of Bluware’s agile software development teams.
  • Working with design, implementation, testing, and documentation of front-end and/or back-end solutions.
  • Participating in meetings with clients to understand their needs.
  • Presenting solution proposals to challenges described by a client.
  • Developing pilot implementations to illustrate a new solution proposal.
  • Writing correct, efficient code that can be used in production systems.


Qualifications

The typical formal qualification would be a Master or PhD degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or physics, though this is not a strict requirement.

We expect that you have a strong expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • High level languages such as Python and JavaScript.
  • Application-level languages such as C++, Java and C#.
  • Web frameworks (React, Angular, Flutter etc.)
  • Cloud development and deployment experience with either Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud. Multi-threaded and/or distributed programming and debugging.
  • Data-driven and/or physics-based modeling. We seek candidates with experience with ML and data-driven methods, as well as modeling based on numerical simulation. Familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes, Docker/rkt, Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffee, Cassandra, Matlab, and related ML libraries.
  • 2D and 3D graphics programming. GPU programming.
  • Numerical methods, algorithms, and implementations.
