Engineering Manager to Merchant Onboarding

In the Small and Medium Business segment we're designing an optimal and seamless onboarding experience for our business customers. Our goal is to be equally loved by merchants as we are by private users!

We're now seeking a talented Engineering Manager to join our product teams, focusing on the crucial process of developing solutions that meets key merchant needs.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will be working within Merchant Life Cycle, a central area at Vipps MobilePay where we focus on creating a great business experience for merchants. This includes but is not limited to, designing an easy onboarding flow, designing a captivating merchant user experience, optimizing our use of data, and automation of manual processes. You’ll be working on core customer-facing processes related to our commercial initiatives, as well as developing internal tooling for managing our vast company portfolio. Ideally you are motivated to find solutions to key pain points for businesses where you can see your effort have a clear and measurable impact in Vipps MobilePay's operations.

The role of an Engineering Manager at Vipps MobilePay is a unique and rewarding one. We're looking for someone who has a knack for building efficient teams, with a passion for leading and mentoring individuals towards their goals. The ideal candidate for this role should have a background with at least five years as a developer or similar role, working with full stack teams. We currently have a lot of our backend code in Golang, most web apps in React, heaps of Azure resources, Grafana dashboards supporting our dev ops mentality, and more.

You'll work to drive and navigate your team towards achieving the goals you have set together. You'll need great communication and presentation skills as well as a desire to work collaboratively with others. You're a great fit if you can easily break down high-level initiatives into smaller tasks with clear steps. You'll be both a leader but also a core contributor within the team, demonstrating that every task and responsibility is handled with sincere commitment and care. You should feel at ease working alongside our Product & UX/UI teams, propelling a design-led thinking mindset in every task we undertake. We're firm believers in an Agile approach, enabling smart and efficient work. Ensuring high technical quality in our deliveries is paramount and you will be a part of building this culture within the team.

As an Engineering Manager, it'll be your responsibility to ensure that the team serves its purpose effectively. This will involve capacity planning and potential hiring processes. Collaboration is core to our culture, and you'll work closely with other areas to ensure that your team aligns with the goals and objectives set for our segment and company as a whole.
