Responsibilities
Technical leadership:
- Work closely with Product managers, Product Designers, other Tech Leads , Solution Architects and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Lead the technical design and development, building products that are feasible, scalable, reliable, maintainable, and secure.
- Be a part of building WalWil’s engineering culture - propose new best practices in line with relevant industry trends and conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Document and build strategies to resolve technical debt.
- Continuously improve, learn and build a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Report to the DSCS management team on progress and goals.
People leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop people in your team.
- Conduct performance reviews and foster a positive team culture.
- Build a culture of empathy, teamwork, communication and proactive problem-solving through leading by example.
- Recruit new members into your team, working closely with HR and Talent partner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
- Experience as a Tech Lead or similar role
- Deep understanding of cloud architectures and services, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong experience in building cloud-native applications, preferably with Node.js and TypeScript or Kotlin - be a developer with knowledge in coding (self-assessment).
- Strong experience with database design, data modelling, and data management.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and best practices. - distributed system
- Experience with complex and large integrations and APIs.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including test automation and continuous delivery.
- Experience in delivering products with cross-functional teams.
