This is a unique opportunity to become a key part of an agile, independent, and competent team driving new technology development within a leading international organization. As an embedded electronics developer, you will help to renew and improve our downhole and digital infrastructure products in collaboration with the local and global technology team.   

Halliburton is the world’s largest provider of Completion equipment to oil and gas operators across the world, and the Sandefjord team is founded on the development of a product for permanently measuring pressure and temperature behind casing in oil and gas wells, including carbon storage wells. The Sandefjord location is a global excellency center for inductive coupler- and digital infrastructure technology. We have a strong multidisciplinary team welcoming brilliant minds to deliver on new applications as well as improve the current product portfolio.

Your responsibilities:

-          Develop electronic designs for PCBAs

-          PCB layout design

-          Assist with electronic designs for MCMs

-          Continuous improvement through the entire product life cycle

-          Collaborate with project managers, product owners and other engineers, locally and globally

 

Our expectations:

We are searching for a person with a passion for electronics design. A person that is familiar with electronic circuitries and components and can apply this to practical use. We work with both PCBAs for subsea and topside use, as well as MCMs for downhole products.
Design for reliability is integral to everything we do. Downhole products will experience very harsh environments including vibration and high temperatures for 10+ years with no service possibilities.

It is all about creating reliable, functional, and user-friendly products for demanding customers and environments, supporting both traditional and green sub surface technology. Like the rest of us you are curious, creative, and self-driven, as well as motivated by working with others to find simple solutions to new and complex challenges. We are a multilingual company with English as our primary language. Norwegian is not required but an advantage. Some travel should be expected.

 

Required qualifications and competencies:

Basic electronic skills and ability to learn is required.

-          Relevant Bachelor or Master diploma

-          Experience with analog and digital circuit board design

 

Desired competencies and experiences:

-          Power and signal electronics

-          Altium

-          Multi-chip-modules / High temperature electronics design

-          Technologies: Cyclone V, ARM, IoT

-          Programming languages: C, LabVIEW, VHDL

-          Use communication protocols such as: TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, PPP, MODBUS, OPC

-          EMC designs and testing
