We have increased activity and are looking to strengthen our team at Schlumberger Norway Technology Center in Oslo (Lysaker). 

By joining our team, you will be embarking on a unique journey with the world's leading provider of technology to the global energy industry. Our new employee has preferably some understanding of multiphase flow related to design, operation and integrity of oil& gas production or carbon capturing and storage (CCS) systems.

At the technology center, the Flow Assurance team is developing our best-in-class flow simulators and enhances them towards new energy solutions like CCS and hydrogen transport. Schlumberger software portfolio spans all technologies from cloud and web-based applications to computationally intensive scientific modelling. Our people create professional software for an exciting energy industry in a dynamic work environment.


The position is on site, following Schlumberger’s new BlueFlex program allowing partly use of home office.  

 

About the position:

As a graphical user interface developer, you will work in a Scrum team with responsibility for the graphical user interface of our advanced simulators OLGA and PIPESIM. Major duties include: Software development and programming; Understand client needs and deliver high-quality solutions that exceeds their expectations; Review and ensure clarity in the software requirements to improve effectiveness and usability; Make sure look and feel are consistent through the graphical user interface.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and extend our existing graphical user interfaces for OLGA or PIPESIM
  • Participate in preparation/elaboration of requirements with focus on usability and maintainability
  • Present demos of work done to the team and external stakeholders
  • Help create, maintain, and improve our user interface automated tests
  • Cooperate closely with portfolio and testers – Identify problem areas and discuss fixes

 

Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or Company.

 

Educational background and qualification:

  • Bachelor or master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
  • Experience from GUI software development:
    - UX design, detail design, object orientation and coding based on C# or .NET.
    - Specification and documentation. 
    - Test-driven development and methods
  • Excellent technical and English communication skills, both oral and written

Nice to have:

  • Experience with SpecFlow, Python, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
  • Understanding of physics/ fluid flow
  • Experience with C++
