We have increased activity and are looking to strengthen our team at Schlumberger Norway Technology Center in Oslo (Lysaker). 

By joining our team, you will be embarking on a unique journey with the world's leading provider of technology to the global energy industry. Our new employee has preferably some understanding of multiphase flow related to design, operation and integrity of oil & gas production or carbon capturing and storage (CCS) systems.

We are primarily looking for you who already has some experience in this domain. 

At the technology center, the Flow Assurance team is developing our best-in-class flow simulators and enhance them towards new energy solutions like CCS and hydrogen transport. Schlumberger software portfolio spans all technologies from cloud and web-based applications to computationally intensive scientific modelling. Our people create professional software for an exciting energy industry in a dynamic work environment.


The position is on site, following Schlumberger’s new BlueFlex program allowing partly use of home office.  


About the position:

As Quality Assurance Engineer, you will work in a Scrum team with responsibility for the quality of our advanced simulators and any services provided using them. Major duties include: ensure test plans capture all user needs and cover major workflows; review and qualify user documentation as per portfolios changes; review and ensure clarity in software requirements to improve effectiveness and usability; coordinate testing activities, including creation and execution of test plans at all stages of the application cycles as functional tests, regression tests & automation test review; help with implementing automated tests.



  • Follow up and perform testing of ongoing development in OLGA, PIPESIM or services using OLGA or PIPESIM.
  • Participate in preparation/elaboration of requirements with focus on testability and tests needed
  • Present test results to the team and external stakeholders
  • Help maintaining and improving our UI automated tests
  • Help setting up test suites
  • Help portfolio with maintaining our backlog
  • Cooperate closely with portfolio and developers – Identify problem areas and discuss fixes

Educational background and qualification:

  • Bachelor or master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Excellent technical communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent English skills, bot oral and written
  • Experience with testing and frameworks


Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of multiphase flow
  • Knowledge of SpecFlow or Cucumber/Protractor
  • Having a software testing certificate
