To fulfill our challenging and ambitious goals we need to strengthen our competence and are therefore looking for a Communications Engineer to join us. Our team is focused on specifying, developing, and integrating our world leading connectivity solutions for maritime applications. This includes own technology and third-party components.

In this role, you will be working with design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial communication network architecture for maritime applications with a key focus on cyber security. Some of the tasks include working with communication network equipment, such as firewalls, routers, modems, and switches as well as internetworking of equipment, IP planning, and system/network hardening. You will be testing and integrating both wired and wireless communication technologies in our connectivity solutions. Commonly used wireless access technologies and standards include Wi-Fi systems, satellite communications, point-to-point radio systems, and cellular communications (4G/5G). A key requirement for our connectivity solutions is integration of cyber security solutions/principles for industrial communications networks. This will therefore be an important responsibility in this role.

Qualifications and experience

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in ICT, cyber security, computer engineering or similar.
  • Good understanding of communication/IP networks, networking standards as well as practical experience with networking equipment.
  • Practical experience or good knowledge of wired as well as wireless communication systems and technologies (e.g., Ethernet/IP, satellite communications, mobile 4G/5G communications, Wi-Fi systems, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Practical experience or good knowledge of cyber security solutions, principles, and practices for industrial communication networks is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of programming languages/tools (C/C++, Python, shell scripting, Git, DevOps).
  • Excellent Norwegian and/or English communication skills.
