As Department Manager – Systems Engineering Management, you will lead a team of Engineering Managers with full technical responsibility for integrated projects, who oversee the engineering teams across product families. You will be responsible for definition of and compliance to project roles and process, to ensure the delivery and quality of Kongsberg’s most advanced integrated systems to the customer.

Responsibilities

• Team Leader: Lead the team and foster a positive social and professional environment.
• Quality Advocate: Quality review of ship and equipment specifications, check function and scope of the Kongsberg Maritime delivery. Uphold delivery excellence and actively contribute to R&D initiatives and sales support.
• Systems Thinking Evangelist: Plan and execute interface management and ensure specified System Functionality is achieved. Establish a center of excellence.
• Collaboration Champion: Responsible for coordination of technical execution in integrated projects. Work closely with the broader project team, securing approvals from customers, class authorities, and national bodies.

 

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant engineering education, college or university.
• Experience in one or several areas within Maritime or Offshore: engineering management, system or equipment design, operation of ships or offshore installations.
• Leadership of teams, either with direct or project personnel reporting lines.
