Senior UX Designer

MazeMap is an indoor mapping and wayfinding SaaS company that started in Trondheim in 2013. Our maps help over 3 million users a month navigate complex campuses all around the world, such as large universities, hospitals and office buildings. Not only do we make modern, interactive digital maps that are enriched with information, we also developed our own in-house tool that is used for processing of these maps. This is the primary tool that our Customer Success team uses in their daily work, and we also train our customers to use some aspects of this tool so that they can modify their own maps. The opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our team and lead the design of user experiences for both mobile apps and web platforms, to our intensively used internal tool. One of the key focuses will be improving the usability of our processing tool, which would have a significant impact on the daily workflow of our teams. This role provides nuanced and exciting challenges for a UX designer passionate about creating intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly interfaces.

At MazeMap, you’ll also be tasked with helping us evolve the user experience across our entire product range. Our rapid growth from startup to scale-up kept our focus a bit more towards development work, and so we’re looking for someone who can drive incremental improvements while advocating for the importance of UX within the company. Are you keen on balancing ideal solutions with the practical constraints prioritizing and managing such improvements in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company?

Who are we looking for

You would lead UX design for a diverse range of products, both internal and external facing. You care about developing user-friendly products together with different members of MazeMap, and would be able to optimize user workflows through deep understanding of how the tool is used in everyday work. Because of how extensively our product is used, we need someone with 5+ years of professional experience as a UX Designer and ideally with a diverse range of apps/products.

You have a proven track record in user research, workflow optimization and UX

strategy. You leverage these experiences to collaborate with global users to gather insights, develop user personas, and refine user profiles to ensure design decisions are well-grounded in real-world data. This also means that you would design and implement processes for gathering user input in a structured manner, studying user workflows, and turning that into enhanced user experience across applications.

This key role is part of the Engineering team where we value knowledge sharing and a culture of collaboration, so we see it as a big plus if you have experience in conducting UX workshops inside or outside of a company. We would look to you as the leader in championing user-centered design.

We have a diverse group of colleagues, so you must have good communication skills in English, both written and oral.

The work location is in Trondheim, and we prefer that you are based in Norway with the willingness to move or travel to Trondheim.
