Learning Support Assistant - supply

Are you motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs?

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced learning support assistant to join our caring learning support team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and enriched educational experience for our students. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with teachers, students, families, and other key professionals to ensure every student’s unique needs are met.

The position is a teaching assistant for supply work (0%) - temporary for one year, with the possibility of extension.
The position is available for immediate appointment.


Key responsibilities

  • Help create a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes growth, self-confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Foster and build caring relationships with students with various learning needs.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate the various learning diversities within the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher or the SEND Coordinator.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to support neurodiverse students.

  • A background in education, learning support, or working with individuals with special needs
  • A passion for creating inclusive and diverse learning experiences
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students

Qualifications

The following qualifications are relevant:

  • Qualifications in special needs education, social work, or social care
  • All candidates should have good English (minimum B2)

Experience

This person should have experience working with primary children with special needs and/or have the personal qualities needed to work 1:1 with individuals with special needs.
