R&D Software Engineer – Embedded and Control

About the position

As our R&D Software Engineer, you will join our skilled, small, and engaged technical team developing cutting-edge exoskeletons. As a software developer in Vilje Bionics, you will create and advance the software that allows the exoskeleton to seamlessly utilize its sensors and actuators to assist the user in their daily life.

Your work will amongst others include:

  • Development of embedded software
  • Control strategy development and implementation
  • Methods to adapt the control software to the individual user
  • Methods to test and verify software
  • Software verification
  • Improvement of the software development process
  • Development and implementation of algorithms for human-robot interaction
  • Electronics requirements specification and development

In your role, you will have the chance to interact with various systems within the exoskeleton. This will provide you with valuable exposure and experience in areas such as electronics, human-robot interaction, and mechanical product development. Our product is developed collaboratively with users and customers, and you will be involved in our design thinking process, which emphasizes user participation, prototyping, and testing. We are currently in an exciting phase of development, allowing you to shape your position within the team according to your skills and interests. Additionally, you will play a central role in the further growth of Vilje Bionics.

Qualifications and skills

  • M.Sc. / Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline (cybernetics, robotics, electronics, etc...)
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
