Kongsberg Discovery, Customer Services, Underwater Acoustic is responsible for technical advisory, support and training on products for Mapping, Positioning and Communication. Our goal is to provide the best possible support and follow-up throughout the entire life cycle of the systems to our customer's full satisfaction.

To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join us at Kongsberg Discovery in Horten. As a Field Service Engineer, you will do installation and commissioning of Underwater Acoustic systems on vessels and in shipyards around the world. You will do service and maintenance on installed systems on sailing ships and offshore installations. As well as offer in-house technical support and remote service to external and internal customers.

Our Field Service Engineers are at the front line when representing KONGSBERG to our worldwide customers. Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Commissioning, testing and service jobs world wide
  • Technical support and on-call/remote service
  • Supervision and operator assistance onboard
  • Telephone, e-mail and remote connection support to our customers

 

Experience/qualifications

  • Engineer (B.Sc/B.Eng) in electronics/instrumentation/computer science
  • Good IT/PC/network skills
  • Good communication skills in English and Norwegian. Both oral and written
  • Highly motivated for worldwide support activities
  • Experienced and non-experienced engineers are encouraged to apply
