We are looking for a dedicated QA Manager to join our growing team in Oslo. Oliasoft is one of Norway’s most exciting, innovative and fast-growing technology companies.

The company:

Oliasoft develops and sells engineering software used for planning and construction of wells. The software is used for designing wells for Oil and Gas, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Geothermal. Our first product, Oliasoft WellDesign, was launched in 2020 and we have signed agreements with several key clients, like Equinor and Shell.

Oliasoft is building the next generation engineering software for the oil- and energy industry, with rich interactive 2D and 3D user interfaces, making use of highly performant simulation engines (CFD, FEM etc.). In addition, we also want our software to be intuitive and easy to use.

Our software is delivered as a SaaS web solution running on cloud. We have set up a modern CI/CD pipeline with multiple releases each week. Technology stack is primarily React with Node.js and REST APIs written in JS/TS. Behind the scenes, we combine our front-end with highly performant simulation engines written in various languages and made to elastically scale both horizontally and vertically.

We are therefore looking for a QA Manager, to ensure the continued quality of our software.

Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Manage QA: Manage day-to-day overview of test coverage throughout Oliasoft product portfolio
  • Create and manage test requirements/plans for all test types (unit- , redux-, integration-, end-to-end-, performance- , and stability tests)
  • Write (automated) tests where needed together with product owners and other developers
  • Work closely with the product team to identify priority areas for tests. Help translating Product Owner requirements into test scenarios
  • Identify, analyse and document problems or potential problems with program functions, outputs and GUI behaviour
  • Update test documentation and create easy to follow test routines for the developers
  • Talk to domain experts to understand base functionality
  • Evaluate new tools and libraries for test planning and execution together with our SW Tools Department
  • Be part of early phase development scoping of new products/modules planning team. Create testing plan to ensure stability with regards to new development
  • Follow up with Product Owners and developers during testing of new features and products to QA/QC prior to release

Who we think you are:

  • BSc or MSc in Software engineering or in a relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years experience in test execution, analysis & reporting
  • Worked with Jira, Soap-UI or Postman
  • Experience with development in JS/TS
  • Experience with JEST and Cypress is a plus
  • Good communication and collaboration skills – you are a team player
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Analytical and strategic mindset
  • Preferably fluent in both Norwegian and English, but at a minimum in English
