Telenor Nordic is looking for a Vice President of Nordic IT Strategy and Transformation to join Nordic CIO-team.

The role

The VP Nordic IT Strategy and Transformation is responsible for aligning the Nordic IT Strategy & Roadmap with BU-level business & IT strategies, planning implementation and targets for strategic Nordic IT initiatives and supporting the leaders of Pan Nordic Center of Excellences and programs executing the transformation into Nordic operation. The role includes the responsibility, together with the CIOs at the BUs, for rationalizing cost, streamlining operations and improving the operational efficiency of Telenor’s IT operations in the Nordic.

Main target is supporting the Nordic transformation agenda through activities agreed by Nordic Management Team and establish the transformation role for IT, roadmap planning and operating model for Center of Excellences in close co-operation with Nordic IT Operating Model development.

Responsibilities:

  • Strongly support the Nordic CIO Management Team in the development and implementation of the Nordics IT strategic plans based on the needs at the BUs and ambitions of the Nordic Management Team ensuring that the IT capabilities and plans are responsive to the growth, synergy and efficiency objectives in the Nordics.

  • Provide leadership, governance and support as the owner of the IT transformation agenda for IT transformation in the Nordics in terms of planning, managing, and following up the execution of the agreed roadmap together with the BU CIOs, Excellence Center Leaders, Nordic IT Enterprise Architecture, Procurement and other key stakeholders.

  • Enable efficient cross-country collaboration, resource sharing, learning, execution and communication through Virtual Center of Excellences and other efficient and agile organisation structures and ways of working.

  • Ensure alignment across the Nordics and be a critical driver and ambassador on cross-country collaboration with strong efficiency, simplification and cost mindset.

  • Tasks; Contribute to the development and implementation of the Nordics IT strategic plans based on the needs at the BUs and ambitions of the Nordic Management Team ensuring that that the IT capabilities and plans are responsive to the growth, synergy and efficiency objectives in the Nordics.

  • Define and lead the development & maintenance of the Nordic IT Transformation Roadmap, and the practices and processes around it, in close co-operation with the Business Units, Nordic IT Enterprise architecture Team and other key stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership and governance to a team of Virtual Excellence Center Leads / Program Managers who are executing the Nordic IT Roadmap.

  • Enable efficient cross-country collaboration, resource sharing, learning, execution and communication through Virtual Center of Excellences and other efficient organisation structures and ways of working.



Experience and qualifications:

  • Extensive global or international leadership experience in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or programs.

  • Recent IT transformation experience from the Norwegian, Danish, Swedish or Finnish telco market is merited.

  • Extensive experience in leading managers in complex delivery environments by using and scaling operations with agile way of working.

  • Extensive experience from telco business operations - preferably across several domains (B2C business, B2B business, IT, NW).

  • Strong practical experience with business ecosystems, personalized customer value creation, data enrichment solutions, analytical solutions, data integrations and data governance.

  • Strong BU operational experience across several domains.

  • Experience from processes requiring change management skills, including relevant, sound and consistent communication.

  • Extensive experience in creating compelling decision material including presentations that translates Tech/IT story to different audiences, including executive level.

  • Extensive experience in working with different teams - project/line/hybrid. Able to work with team members in different locations.

  • Ability to think radical but realistic manner and drive new modern operating models in telco (B2C and B2B) environment is merited.

  • Holds a university degree within Computer Science or Business and Management.

  • Excellent verbal and written English is required, plus one Nordic language is preferred.

  • Ability to organize and arrange small or big events, plan project activities, bring in right resources, execute and make things happen.

  • Willing to learn, commit to systematic competence development.

  • Analytical, systematic and structured approach - both in improving current processes but also when embarking on new tasks.

  • Good organizational understanding - formal and informal structures.
