Data Scientist We are now facing the launch of exciting new solutions and markets, and therefore want to strengthen our data science team to further increase our capacity. Day to day you will work on a mixture of software development and modelling/analytics tasks, but with a stronger focus on software. This role sits in the Credit Risk and Analytics Department, and will be organized in the Data Science team, where you will work closely with colleagues with different experiences and backgrounds. Our software is written in modern Python, but there is a high degree of freedom of implementation, and you will be able to gain a high amount of ownership of both existing and new projects.
Work tasks may include:
Developing and maintaining internal software for the Credit Risk and Analytics department, written in Python, both batch systems and web APIs
Maintenance and improvement of the team’s devops processes
Participation in model development, validation, implementation, and simulation
Collaboration with the data warehouse, IT, finance, and other departments
Developing and maintaining the bank's current and future risk management systems
Performing various analytics tasks and presenting results
Who you are: To succeed in the role, you have the ability to multitask and take part in several projects at once. We believe you have solid analytical skills, are eager to use data, and are willing to challenge and improve existing analytical methods. As an individual, you are a highly motivated person who manages to work independently but enjoys being a team player too. You consider yourself curious and always looking to expand your knowledge. Furthermore, you have the ability to work under tight deadlines and have excellent problem-solving skills. The job will be based at Bank Norwegian’s office at Fornebu, Norway.
Additionally, we have a few requirements for your candidacy to succeed:
Higher education in quantitative subjects
Knowledge of the Python programming language. Knowledge of and interest in topics like web frameworks such as Flask, typing and unit-test are nice bit not essential.
Knowledge of SQL and interest in becoming a SQL resource within the Credit Risk and Analytics Department.
Good English is required, Norwegian is a plus
Experience in banking is a plus
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
