Mission - ensure the design and governance, implementation and maintenance of IT Cloud network infrastructure operation. The primary focus is to design, manage and govern a secure, highly scalable and available modern network across the digital infrastructure


Who you will work with: you will be part of an international team and report to IT Manager Networks. Networks is part of IT Platforms and consists of a multi-disciplined team where we take pride in collaborating on modern day initiatives.


What you will work on:  

  • Work with IT Manager Networks to drive the IT Platform vision and roadmap
  • Manage, maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers/vendors and -or stakeholders, translating technical concepts, topics, issues, or options into business terms
  • Create and architect network designs to ensure smooth public cloud adoptions towards Microsoft Azure
  • Plan and implement cloud network designs and support and maintain the network architecture
  • Own, create and maintain architecture documentation of the cloud network infrastructure, including network architecture and artifacts, technical design and governance
  • Design, implement and maintain a future driven automated architecture using IaC and CI/CD with IT industry best practises, ensuring pipelines ready for continuous integration and development
  • Work with IT Platforms teams to ensure a secure, simplified, compliant and cost-efficient architecture     
  • Research network products, services, protocols, and standards continually, to remain abreast of developments in the networking and communications industry. Take part in the delivery of required technology, related support, operations, and advisory
  • Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, for advice and mentorship to aid and facilitate resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to understand client requirements and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable Cloud Network solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network-related issues, conduct performance analysis, and proactively resolve incidents to maintain high availability and performance
  • Stay up to date with the latest security vulnerabilities, technological trends and best practices, as well as proactively recommending and implementing improvements to enhance service offerings
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of Cloud Networks design, governance and administration


What you need to succeed in the role:    

  • Relevant degree in IT or related fields
  • 5+ years’ experience as a network engineer specialized in public cloud deployments and working with Microsoft Azure or 7+ years in a related Architecture role
  • Proven experience in selecting, designing and overseeing the deployment and management of network infrastructure in Microsoft Azure and traditional LAN, WAN and WLAN solutions
  • Architectural experience of product lifecycle delivery, owning the design from strategy through to execution.
  • Strong, hands on and design experience of Azure VNET’s, VNET Peering, NSG's and VNET Gateways.
  • Experience with implementing and managing SaaS and PaaS based network services and appliances in Azure, including Azure Load balancer, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Firewall and Azure Frontdoor
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing and management of network virtual appliances using Fortinet FortiGate’s, Citrix ADC and F5 BigIP
  • Proven experience with high availability firewall, network load balancer and WAF strategy and design.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of network operating systems, including Palo Alto PAN-OS, Cisco IOS and NX-OS, Cisco Meraki, NetScaler
  • Working technical knowledge of network protocols, including BGP, OSPF, IGMP, VRRP, STP, VTP, and IPsec tunnelling
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (using e.g., Terraform, DevOps, GitHub, Ansible), containerization, CI/CD and solid knowledge of Python to automate Network management tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of network security technologies, principles and protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills and ability to understand & convey complex IT scenarios.
  • Service minded attitude and ability to communicate with all levels within the business.
  • Great in presenting, planning and experience with working in agile projects
  • Working knowledge with IT Risk management
